Manufacturing Jobs Down 20% from 2006

This is rather remarkable. With the continued decline in "goods producing" jobs, a full 20% less people work in manufacturing (per the ADP) from just a bit more than two years ago.

  1. "Goods Producing" industries include construction where around half of the "goods producing" jobs have been lost in the current recession. This is not to say that manufacturing job losses have not been significant, especially since there was almost no recovery of manufacturing jobs during the Bush expansion.
